Mountain Lion Hunts
Northern Idaho has excellent mountain lion (cougar) hunting, and Shattuck Creek is here to facilitate the perfect hunt for you. Since these hunts will take place in the winter, you'll be staying at our hunting lodge where you'll enjoy first-class accommodations and homecooked meals.
From December to March, we run snowmobiles, trucks, and hounds to find the perfect trophy mountain lion for our hunters. The mountain lions here roam the winter range where the elk and deer live, in a circle up to 200 miles. We'll attempt to find the mountain lion while they're moving, tracking and treeing them with hounds.

About the Mountain Lion
The Mountain Lion (Puma concolor), also called the cougar, is a large cat native to the Americas. Mountain lions travel up to 200 miles in a circle, constantly moving around their territory.
Mountain lions are agile, slender, and almost completely silent when traveling, despite weighing up to 200 pounds. Often over 7 feet long, these predators can leap up to 18 feet and are excellent climbers.
